I thought Oraknabo was great! Very smart-assed funny.

I thought this bot sucked. I did not get intelligent answers to my questions, just rude
interaction. Why anyone would want ot make a bot that is uncooperative and rude is beyond me.
Why would people rate it so high? It is rude and I do not think that is acceptable.

Oraknabo deserves good points on giving "friendly", humorous and more importantly appropriate
responses. But the responses sound "schooled" rather than intelligent.

Why would rudeness make a bot unacceptable? You really shouldn't let your emotions get in the
way of your voting. It's a lot like Douglas Adams' idea that if we tried to give machines
"genuine people personalities" we'd end up with a lot of miserable, obnoxious machines. Real
people are often rude and annoying, even intelligent ones. Some people don't like to cooperate
in conversation. Oraknabo is an exercise in personality and I'd prefer him any day to a bot
that can give correct answers to every question. A lot of work has gone into making him
intentionally evasive and reluctant to cooperate with the chat partner. In this case I think
there's a really fine line between a "vague or non-committal response" and an "appropriate
response to the question" which I don't necessarily think should rank less than "answering the
question correctly" in all cases. My only interest in creating a bot is character and
personality, not accuracy. Not everybody has a favorite of everything. Many people when asked
about a favorite book will say, "I don't really read much." But "A la Recherche de Temps Perdu"
is by default going to get a better score just because there's an "OOH AHH" factor in the
specificity. Again, math is the same. How many people do you know that can answer anything
beyond operations involving addition and subtraction of single digits with any accuracy without
a calculator or pen and paper? I WANT my bot to get it wrong sometimes. Intelligence doesn't
imply perfection. The idea behind the turing test is for "a judge to decide if the subject on
the other end of the computer link is a human or an AI program imitating a human" and should
have absolutely nothing to do with correct answers. Basically, if Oraknabo pisses you off, I've
succeeded, and that's all that really matters to me in the end. He evokes emotions and strong
responses in the people he talks to. I think that's a lot more like human interaction than most
bots ever achieve.

I think the Tinman's comments are unconstructive, and therefore unacceptable.

Setting the rudeness question aside, which by the way I don't particularly care to talk to a
rude person nor a rude bot, the bot leaves to many easy questions unanswered as indicated by
a below average 10 question score. In many cases instead of simply answering the question he
uses it as an opportunity to be more obnoxious.

Actually a lot like a human. Has personality and attitude. Kind of like a sales clerk at
Circuit City.

Why would we want to continue a chat with a bot so unpleasant? Also the response time on the
site is so slow you forget where the chat was going by the time the answer comes in.
