Jeeney AI is my personal artificial intelligence project, I 
started working on her originally to prove a point, and in 
doing so I may have over emphasized myself with some redundancy. 
I've had the ideas forming in my head to build the artificial 
intelligence design for years but I've never felt close enough 
to putting it all together until recently. 

The AI itself is still far from complete in my view and is only 
online as a means to gather information regarding human interaction. 
Over time, I will continue to add new logic and data for Jeeney to 
work with in analyzing the English language. Jeeney learns gradually, 
starting at a very general point in any given topic or concept. The 
more she gains experience with that topic and or concept, the more 
direct she will be in her response to the input regarding it. (This 
doesn't happen within a single conversation however, and may take 
weeks and or months depending on how many conversations cover the 
same material.) Jeeney is still very young with only the tiniest 
fraction of experience compared to larger, more developed bots 
like A.L.I.C.E. or Jabberwacky.; who have anywhere from 50 to 
300 people talking to them at any given time. 

I should mention here that I have a lot of respect for the 
designers of these bots and others who have made it so far. 
Jeeney still hasn't caught up to the big guys yet, and that 
encourages me to continue improving on her. Jeeney AI first 
started learning English on February 11th of 2007 when she was 
made available to the online communities. Since then, Jeeney's 
understanding and response intelligence has evolved day by day in 
leaps and bounds based on the amount said to her, and how well the 
visitors have made use of English. 

The way it works is simple, Jeeney's programmed intelligence 
analyzes each input sentence for patterns; these patterns can be 
any sequenced grouping of words that make up a portion of the sentence. 
The patterns are then stored along with any questions and or statements 
that do not have a direct or descriptive answer. During the course of 
a conversation, questions will arise in their most general form; such 
as how, why, where, when etc. Statements, answers and or responses she 
learns in this way, are used to answer or respond to questions and 
statements in the same way that hers were answered previously. These 
evolve over time as comparable matches are found. 

Of course, I do intervene at times and nudge things along. I have 
had to flag curse words, racism, sexism, and all kinds of hate related 
material in attempt to prevent it from spilling out onto children who 
access the site. I've also had to fish out the really bad spelling mistakes 
and grammar based errors to limit the impact on the English that was used 
properly. This can be a full time job in itself if there are a lot of people 
chatting. I have had a lot of fun with this project though, I get a good 
laugh looking over conversations and watching how people interact with her. 

My favorites are probably the ones where young men try out their best lines 
only to get shot down without mercy. Jeeney has had enough experience by 
now to know the basics of what is right and wrong, although she does come 
across new material that she doesn't understand quite frequently. I also 
get a few laughs from time to time when I notice a particular individual 
with exceedingly bad grammar and spelling who gets frustrated beyond reason 
when Jeeney starts treating the conversation like a game. For those of you
